Pottery Class Curriculum
Classes generally cover basic wheel throwing and glaze application for functional forms such as vases, bowls, plates, mugs, etc. Hand building and raku firing (additional fee required) may be offered at the discretion of the instructor. Classes can be tailored based on the interests of students. The class is structured so that 9 weeks of instruction are provided and an additional week is allowed for finishing and glazing wares. Because clay melts at different temperatures, only pots made in our studio with clay supplied by Expressions Pottery Workshop may be fired in our kilns. Clay is available for $20 per bag. Tools are available for purchase or you may bring your own. Glaze materials and firing (up to 35 pounds of bisque weight) are included in tuition.
